Pax Americana

Make America Great Again! The Americans want to go back to where they once were. In this time, where they could still be proud, rich and happy. Christian Heeb has subtly focused his camera on the remnants of this world. He is a visual archaeologist whose images speak of a deeply felt critical love for this country. Instead of dreamscapes, canyons, forests, wild coasts, Christian Heeb photographed motels where nobody has slept for a long time, petrol stations where no one fills the gas tank anymore, diners where waitresses have long ceased to smell the stale, stale coffee from the transparent jug pour into the cups of tired truckers. Places of remote America. The photographer shows a land between reality, illusion and lies.
